Out of all the places in Poland, this choice is pretty strange. :)
- storus 3mo agoIsn't it right next to the largest agglomeration in Poland? Also close to two (maybe three) other countries connected via highways?
- cyclopeanutopia 3mo agoTrue, but still, not the city one has in mind when thinking about tech companies in Poland.
- Reason077 3mo agoApple’s head office for all of Europe is located in Cork, Ireland. They are not averse to building offices in places you might not expect. It’s not some “paper HQ” for tax purposes, either - they have over 6000 employees there and are easily the largest private employer in Cork.
- lll-o-lll 3mo agoIt’s not a paper HQ, but it is for tax purposes.
- cyclopeanutopia 3mo agoOk, it is comparable.
- shimman 3mo agoIt is in Ireland for tax reasons tho... like you understand this is how corporations make concessions with government right? You get favorable terms if you provide jobs/tax revenue? 6,000 employee salaries is a drop in the bucket for a company skirting 10s to 100s of billions in tax revenue.
