US Approves Launch of Satellite That Can Reflect Sunlight and Illuminate Earth
- Jblx2 3mo agoApparently Wired is now pay-walled. Here is another article about things: https://www.space.com/space-exploration/satellites/this-companys-plan-to-launch-4-000-massive-space-mirrors-has-scientists-alarmed-from-an-astronomical-perspective-thats-pretty-catastrophic https://www.space.com/space-exploration/satellites/this-comp... ...I wonder what the cost per minute is to use this? Seems like each mirror can only be used by one user at a time. Unlike a Starlink or other communication satellite which can be used by lots of users simultaneously. I suppose eventually there will have to be restrictions on these satellites, so that you can't use them to harass people. Or use a bunch of these as a concentrated solar forest-fire starter.
