I'm so incredibly happy police resources are being used to "protect" the rest of us from... harm...?
- BLKNSLVR 3mo agoI guess that's something else a bunch of us learned about the world from moving in those circles. Important life lessons provided by being at least adjacent to music piracy.
- self_awareness 3mo agoPolice exists to enforce the policy set by legislations. Legislations define rules to protect "us" from harm, but police is for policing only. They do not protect people. They protect the law.
- alex1138 3mo agoI know. I'm just, allowed to be sad As far as I'm aware, the Pirate Bay raid essentially only happened because the US threatened Sweden with trade repercussions. Like, thanks, guys? Way to show you have superior ethics to the pirates
- Cthulhu_ 3mo agoMusic piracy and copyright infringement are civil matters, the police is (...should not be?) involved.
