G+ community doesn't appear to be solving any of the old online community problems. The first question I would ask here is: Who's Hacker News Community is this? Each and every member of the HN can create his or her own HN community on Google+ and that's exactly what Google+ is allowing so far. You are calling it Official, and that is another set of problem, because then I would ask (assuming you run HN which appears not to be the case): why? Why is there a need for a Google+ community for HN when HN is already a community here? Is anyone following the issues?
