OpenAI are really starting to look and smell like “the bad guys” in the industry.
- nullbio 3mo agoAnthropic is doing the same thing but at an even larger scale than OpenAI, ironically. OpenAI was just unlucky enough to get caught.

- overgard 3mo agoI think their moral failures are just a bit more visible at the moment. I don't think the other companies are much better. Maybe they're more competent at not running afoul of the law. If this is the kind of thing that makes people want to cancel their ChatGPT subscriptions, I'd suggest going to local models instead of Anthropic, or smaller providers with more stringent ethical guidelines.

- Andrex 3mo agoYeah, whatever small amount of Koolaid I was excited to drink went out the window when they ditched the charity angle. A broken clock's right twice a day and Musk is right about that.
