If things were so good then, how did they lead to Now?

- abhaynayar 3mo agoDue to multipolar traps (large-scale, multi-agent versions of the Prisoner's Dilemma) i.e. when individuals in a competitive system are forced to take actions that benefit them in the short term, but degrade the system for everyone over time.
