Microsoft Publisher will no longer be supported after October 2026
- MrVandemar 3mo agoMicrosoft is not just no longer supporting publisher, the application will be just plain gone. It's extraordinary to me that a huge number of files representing many hours of human labour will suddenly become unopenable. I'm not saying Microsoft Publisher is necessarily good, but at work I run into a layout problem that Word won't handle, and there's nothing else available to me there. Crazy.
- cyanydeez 3mo agoI'd guess they'll just shove another vibe coded app into there. MS is basically addicted to churn because they no longer sell anything to own. Its all rent; no one rents office for publisher.
- pwdisswordfishs 3mo agoOpen source it, you pussies
- MrDrMcCoy 3mo agoI'm willing to bet that code would be an embarrassment to Microsoft and useless to anyone else.
- schmookeeg 3mo agoI feel like I have mourned the death of MSPub at least once before.
- rekabis 3mo agoThe incentive to continue getting MS Office continues to shrink. First Outlook Classic being slowly replaced, now Publisher. Thank goodness I have the perpetual version of 2024. I honestly don’t use it all that much, but it still comes through in a clutch.
