  The software it runs is called Nitter. You can also run it on your own server to reduce load on the popular servers and make it harder for Elon to block all copies of Nitter. (Note the T and G keys are next to each other on QWERTY keyboards - beware typos)

  There are browser extensions (eg. Redirect for Firefox) that will automatically replace x.com with xcancel.com.

    You want to be using LibRedirect for this. It provides a list of public alternative frontends for a lot of sites (twitter, imgur, reddit, etc.)

    You can replace xcancel.com by nitter.net, it worked for me. Like this: https://nitter.net/MaximeRivest/status/2073544461473169432 https://nitter.net/MaximeRivest/status/2073544461473169432 Both are running the same software but I guess the protection of the sites work differently.
