Suggest HN: filter submissions

I'd like a community discussion about submission filtering that can either be implemented on HN or as an extension. I see quite a lot of content that sits on the front page that I will never open because of the site it links to. I'm sure there are others like me, but I will not open a link to TC or PandoDaily amongst others. So some kind of mechanism that will instahide that item from the front page for my account would be so great. The comments would obviously be hidden but I consider that collateral. What are your thoughts?
