Thanks. Most media sites have Open Graph tags - I wonder why Twitter didn't just reuse those. I understand they're from a competitor but they are somewhat standard. All these proprietary tags add unnecessary overhead to developers and bloat to pages. Sigh!

Agreed. That wouldn't have stopped Instagram from removing support though.
