The Complete Homemade Juggling Beanbag Guide
- mrauha 3mo agoStumbled on this, an absolutely fascinating exposition on crafting bean bags for juggling/footbagging. Well structured & written, hundreds of pages of pdf's. On the meta, there's a bittersweet feeling - discovering these "early internet" (i.e. pre-enshittification/sloppification) gems is an increasingly rare experience.
- piva00 3mo agoHappily surprised to see Joshua Clifton's designs appearing on Hacker News, thanks for posting it :) I know many jugglers in the circus community who really enjoyed the process of making their own beanbags from his designs, I just never expected to see it mentioned here, haha.
- OPBoot 3mo agoVery nice! I wonder if the author can do a Parker Football? https://www.mathsballs.com/ https://www.mathsballs.com/
- choffee 3mo agoThis is why I come to the internet.
- Cider9986 3mo agoLearning to juggle badly is rewarding and relatively easy. I recommend it.
- jcynix 3mo agoFascinating! Now I need to check if there are "dog resitant" examples, because our juvenile Border Collie surely will shred most materials rather fast …

- alanbernstein 3mo agoThese look nice. I met someone with juggling balls made of aluminum chain mail, I immediately thought it was the best material for the purpose. She said she made them herself, then shared the instructions with me. It was a great COVID project. Now I have three juggling balls, and a bunch of leftover rings that I use occasionally for small repair and mounting tasks.
