Kudos to Lego. I think the majority of us agree their product is full of awesome, and to see them providing this level of customer service is awe-inspiring. That said, I think we're missing the crux of the story here. These parents let their child save every penny for two years. There's something to be said for teaching your children to save money for something they want, but to let it go on for two years seems overly cruel. As a parent, you need to make sure they get enough money in birthday cards, allowance, etc. to cover the total in a reasonable amount of time.
