Why would you think I'm making that completely different argument?
If the current scenario is bad, and someone says "we should do this other thing that would be even worse," pointing out that the other thing is worse isn't an endorsement of the current (bad) scenario.
- idiotsecant 3mo agoThe point (that you have annoyingly just brushed past) is that there's no evidence the current system selects for rational, systemic thinking either. Maybe exactly the opposite. Your point was that people are , on average, not smart enough to make these decisions. Parent post points out that it's unclear that such a situation would be a downgrade from current.
