Is anyone else excited by the fact that your average Lego brick can easily hold a human's weight? So if you built things out of LEGO you could, at least in theory, stand on them.
- seabee 14y agoAnyone with kids is well aware of this fact - though they rarely intend to stand on them!
- ibisum 14y agoI stand on the #$%(@& things all the time and wish they'd just crush under my feet instead of being near-invincible by comparison with my soft cells. ;)
- ceejayoz 14y agoAs a parent, I really, really, really wish they'd collapse under a human's weight. That shit hurts.
- dalke 14y agoWear wooden shoes around the house? :) A Dutch woman told me that after you wear them for a year they start to get wear in and get comfortable.
- archangel_one 14y agoUnfortunately something else tends to go wrong first - so you can stand on a solid Lego structure fairly easily, but if you try to build a bridge it's very hard to keep it from failing when weighted in the middle because the weight tends to push the bricks apart from one another. There's an episode of James May's Toy Stories on Lego, where he builds a house from it; it turns out to be pretty tricky to build the floor of the upper storey to support him.

- smackfu 14y agoDon't they just give up and say that you can't build strong enough beams using Lego so they use a non lego structure?
