Ask HN: Which Induction Cooktops Have the Best User Experience (UI/UX)?
I've been researching into induction cooktops for a while now and while there is lots on the top down layout of the device, very little seems to be written on the actual UI/UX of the devices.
Given that physical nobs are rare on these devices; which cooktops have the best user experience?
For me I'd be rating on:
- Ease of use of the touch controls
- The 'buzzy' noise the devices makes
- Other usability enhancements
Interested in any experiences, thoughts, reviews and reflections on this.
- al_borland 3mo agoI have a single burner Duxtop that I bought to test out induction. While it’s far better than my standard electric burners on the stove, it’s all controlled but buttons. Having to mash buttons to turn the heat up/down leaves much to be desired. However, this is rather minor with the dramatically improved experience of the responsiveness of that change in heat.
- ggm 3mo agoSome models have a removable knob which acts as a control. I suppose it's magnetic and rotation driven. May be worth investigating because the touch UI is indeed pretty shit. NEFF, Gaggenau. May indicate two brands with shared supply chain.
