Title is editorialized to meet HN length limit, full title:
A small plane slammed into the tallest skyscraper in China’s capital. Hours later, it was like nothing had happened.
- pbak 4mo agoStill... interesting how in talking about the crash 80% of CNN's article is to mention the censorship, as was your own focus, and not the event itself and what is known about it. NOTHING about the event about which there is a lot of data available. Yeah WE KNOW THEY CENSOR, CHINA BAD. It's not even some red scare anymore. It's like we collectively need the repeated constant mention of "china bad", like some sort of mental pacifier, to not see everything wrong and just as bad in censorship in the west (UK, Germany, sometime the US), or more broadly everything which is going to shit here but is soaring and going well in Asia. Mental infantilisation to the extreme, to keep our inner frightened and traumatized children in control. Thank you for helping that effort soldier.
- Markoff 4mo agobecause they have other article about the event itself, if you bothered to check, this article is about news about this scrubbed from Chinese internet
