Why would running software void a hardware warranty?
- politician 14y agoSoftware might overdrive certain hardware components to failure. OEMs might have recovery agreements in place with Microsoft for failures attributed to Windows 8 which they might not be able to take advantage of if a different OS was on the machine. I'm not an expert on OEM agreements, but this sort of thing seems plausible.
