- tancop 4mo agothe european commission is the part of the EU ran by unelected bureaucrats and captured by corporate interests. thats where all the age verification, copyright expansion, combustion engine bans and other bad policies come from. parliament was always the better plan because MEPs are actually accountable to voters.
- maeglin 4mo agoThe commissioners themselves are politicians nominated by the democratically elected representatives of each EU country. It is true to say they're not directly democratically selected, but unelected bureaucrats is a grossly inaccurate characterisation. I suspect it's the European Civil Service you dislike.
