Are you saying that 52% of British people are retired?
- blipvert 3mo agoNo, but the only two people that I personally know who voted for Brexit, my partner’s parents, were both retired. They did it as a protest because they never thought that it would pass. They immediately regretted it once my partner explained how it would fuck up her/our future. They have subsequently both died.
- youknownothing 3mo agoAnecdotical evidence is not just useless, it's deceiving. I only know one person who voted for Brexit, and it's a low-40s Scottish lawyer who lives in South West London (the posh part). And he's still alive. It doesn't mean anything.
- hdgvhicv 3mo agoA majority of those working full-time or part-time voted to remain in the EU; most of those not working voted to leave. https://lordashcroftpolls.com/2016/06/how-the-united-kingdom-voted-and-why/ https://lordashcroftpolls.com/2016/06/how-the-united-kingdom...
- fulafel 3mo agoIf you look at various ways to slice the voters and look for over 50% leave voters you get arbitrarily many "people with X attribute" factors. Being in England, having lower education, being white, each age group over 45, being christian, etc etc. But it's misleading towards those groups as well, since it's usually just somewhat over 50% so it's misleading to characterise those groups of people through this.
