It is super unfair
It creates a two tier system - those who have access and those who do not. Worse, it’s some corpo making the decision
- freedomben 4mo agoRemember when access for all used to be a high priority for AI? I do. I noticed they don't talk about that anymore
- pizlonator 4mo agoRight That’s still in the OpenAI charter fwiw
- dnfmfnfnfb 4mo agoOnly OpenAI talked about that strongly and directly, because Scam Allmen thought that was the best way to get attention and adulation, over the objections of the most of the people who actually did the research for him. Traditionally Hacker News would’ve sided with the actual engineers over the soulless executive, but clearly that time has passed and this community has lost anything it ever cared for except for selfish libertarianism. Everyone else of significance has been appropriately cautious until their hands were forced, by that alleged incestuous rapist who would never spare a second thought for potential or real harm.
