The most popular sites that still don't support passkeys
- eesmith 3mo agoA lot of the country-level sites I checked don't seems to support user logins so have no need for passkeys. For example, The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change at https://www.ipcc.ch/ https://www.ipcc.ch/ . I thought the most humorous was for Sweden, where haxx.se and curl.se are 4th and 5th on the list. https://whynopasskeys.com/country/se https://whynopasskeys.com/country/se . Neither with web-based logins, as far as I can tell.

- eesmith 3mo agoOnly for those SE cases, yes? Like, https://www.ox.ac.uk/ https://www.ox.ac.uk/ doesn't have passkeys because there are no user accounts there either. It seems that Oxford people use SSO to log into a different domain entirely, and the same for applicants.
- Scott_Helme_ 3mo agoNo, it was more broad than just SE domains, but trying to detect whether a site is suitable for passkeys support automatically is quite the challenge. Some don't allow themselves to be crawled so require manual verification.
- eesmith 3mo agoI can well believe it is a lot of effort! Just trying to figure out if Oxford had a login took a while to discover it did not - at least, not on that domain.
- eesmith 3mo agoI tried a few of the other .se domains listed. "andersnoren.se" appears to be for a single person, with no logins, but not marked so on your site. He seems to be a WordPress developer. And "com.se" seems to be a domain extension, like "co.uk" (https://www.ascio.com/blog/sweden-gets-a-new-domain-extension-com-se/ https://www.ascio.com/blog/sweden-gets-a-new-domain-extensio...), except unlike the UK I can't seem to find any examples of a "*.com.se" site. In any case, the concept of a passkey doesn't seem appropriate for "com.se".

- Scott_Helme_ 3mo agoI'm not entirely sure that it does, which bit of passkeys are you concerned most with?
