Why do you think Microsoft is an AI giant? In my books, the AI Giants are: Alphabet, OpenAI, and Anthropic.
I wouldn't rate Meta, SpaceX, or Microsoft as AI giants, even though they have AI products.
- not_a_bot_4sho 4mo agoSame. But with the callout that SpaceX (via xAI) is trying really hard to be a giant.
- jmalicki 4mo agoMeta at least is an AI giant just from its internal use. Even if Alphabet didn't have Gemini, it would also be a giant from its internal use.
- andsoitis 4mo agoI interpret "AI giant" not to mean who are the biggest USERS of AI, but rather, who is leading the direction of AI development / has the most leverage.
- jmalicki 4mo agoSure, but Meta is developing AI for its own use. That it doesn't have external customers is irrelevant when you look at the total use of its models.
- dgellow 4mo agoIsn’t GitHub copilot pretty huge? I personally hate it and avoid it as the plague, but I see people using it
