Google display wrong flags for world cup 2026
- bryanrasmussen 4mo agoNoticeably absent from the possible errors that have led to this - it was generated by AI and the AI hallucinated wrong flags. In fact if this was the cause it totally highlights the benefit of not using AI, because of course the AI hallucinated and the only way to fix it is to either keep trying to use AI to do it, or do it by hand, or using one of the methodologies already mentioned which if those were the cause of the error would be an easily findable and fixable bug.
- apt-apt-apt-apt 4mo agoThis is like saying scissors can poke you, so don't use scissors.
- abenga 4mo agoNo it's like saying scissors poke so don't use them to hold up an inflated balloon.
- vitally3643 4mo agoIt's more like saying that electric scissors (look it up) can randomly stab blades out of the handle at you and sometimes it's easier and faster to use regular scissors and avoid dealing with random stabbing.
- frollogaston 4mo agoI doubt the results are AI-generated
- bryanrasmussen 4mo agowhy? >In the expanded match list, several countries are shown with incorrect flags. The errors are not subtle — they are completely different flags from entirely different countries. Why can this not be an AI mistake as opposed to one of the other mistakes?
- wffurr 4mo agoDoes not reproduce for me.
- malshe 4mo agoI couldn't reproduce this issue so maybe they have fixed it. On a related note, could you include screenshots in the post?
- jimseinta 4mo agoI have uploaded the screenshot to the article.
- frollogaston 4mo agoEven if the bug is still there, this kind of thing is so A/B tested or dependent on other variables that nothing is going to be reproducible on our end
- jimseinta 4mo agoCould you explain why please?
- toxik 4mo agolol "why it matters" - utter AI slop.
- tnuc 4mo agoI can't reproduce it. Does the error still occur if you do a hard reload or use a different browser?
- adt 4mo agoYou couldn't have included images? Or emojis?
- jimseinta 4mo agoI have updated the article with the screenshot. They still have the issue.
