(However, Hetzner did an earlier price increase 38 days ago. HN's submission logic sends posting the url to the previous discussion: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=48306066 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=48306066)
- ralferoo 4mo agoThe price of server auctions seem pretty much the same as before: https://www.hetzner.com/sb https://www.hetzner.com/sb so if you don't need the latest hardware, Hetzner is still and outstanding deal.
- Foobar8568 4mo agoServer auctions are more expensive than last month, I feel like 50% more at a minimum.
- ralferoo 4mo agoThe lowest is 46.70 EUR, and loads under 50 EUR. Seems about the same as usual. I've not checked any of the higher models in the auctions for ages though. It's important to understand how the auctions work though - the price of each server starts high and drops every couple of hours. That's why were are lots of the same spec at different prices. So, when demand is suddenly high (e.g. when the regular prices increase) the lowest prices will increase as the cheaper ones usually sell first.
- moontear 4mo agoAh, so this is ANOTHER price increase in a short timeframe? Thought I read about this before
- saltmate 4mo agoNo, this is the same prize increase. The post from 38 days ago was the announcement this one will come, now it is active.
