Thanks and you're right I misread the sentence (in line with other commentaters). Though because of xenophobia there was much hesitation against open borders (e.g. Germany and Poland, where Germen didnt like incoming Polish)
- greggoB 4mo agoSure, I'm aware of this and other cases across Europe. The question now is whether or not the establishment of open borders across the continent has dispelled that hesitation or reinforced it. Afaict it's the former, otherwise I'd expect there to be more popular resistance to enlargement.
