I've used the Surf browser with dmenu integration quite a bit, and the software is written well, but default the key bindings are all over the place. I have to look it up, whenver I'm trying to do something as simple as copy and paste. Considering that a build environment is needed to customize it, I feel like they'd get more users sticking around if it defaulted to more conventional controls.
