- aa-jv 4mo agoLinux is not in any way, a retro OS.
- LeFantome 4mo agoThe implication is clearly that the core design dates back to UNIX in the 70’s.
- aa-jv 4mo agoBut many aspects of its core design are also 21st-Century concepts, developed anew in a fresh era, and are still very much widely deployed and in active full development. Therefore, Linux is not retro.
- preisschild 4mo agoLinux is a modern and versatile kernel. You can use it inside a retro emulator, supercomputer operating system, smartphone OS (Android) or desktop operating systems for modern SoCs and lots more.
