The question is what fraction of the population can afford it.
- bpt3 4mo agoIt's normally measured at over 90%. I am in support of socialized medicine, but most Americans like their healthcare when asked, and until that changes, the system won't change either.
- danny_codes 4mo agoUniversal healthcare has majority support. Something like 60-65%. So do most Americans like their healthcare? Perhaps the question is poorly posed.
- bpt3 4mo agoYou can like your current healthcare and understand that the current system is inefficient. I am one of those people. There's also many, many types of universal healthcare (including the very crude version we currently have in the US), some of which have more support than others. I would support a system like Japan, Switzerland, or the UK, but not one where private insurance is banned.
