Arresting American citizens for nothing and bragging about it, I bet the Republicans have a lot of reasons why this is good and why everyone should be happy masked men in the streets will assault you and potentially kill you for the crime of being born here.
- rambojohnson 5mo agosigh the thing is, and this is especially true for conservatives and bigots, what counts as “American,” regardless of citizenship paperwork or what arbitrary plot of land you were born in, is ultimately left to their own interpretation.
- adolfojp 5mo agoReality gets very grim and you lose hope in others when you see people who you thought otherwise reasonable defending this. You can't make an omelette without breaking a few eggs. Perfect is the enemy of good. This is acceptable collateral damage. The number is surprisingly low. I've seen so many bullshit justifications like these.
- onemoresoop 5mo agoAt this point, I can’t think of anything else than these people are completely brainwashed, repeating bits from their propaganda. It’s completely impossible to reason with them.
- jfengel 5mo agoWell, yeah. The reason that it's good is that the people who were arrested were protecting illegal aliens, or had committed some kind of crime. Whatever it was, they are safe, and the government is only arresting bad people.
