This movie hit harder than my highest expectations from an Adam Sandler movie.

  Sandler has some pretty good non-comedy (Uncut Gems, Hustle) or half serious comedy (like Click). He's among the few actors who still could do this and not feel completely out of place... but that's if you give his serious roles a chance, many people just judge the serious movies by his presence in the cast and never actually watch them. He also had a lot of slop movies in career, so I don't blame people who do that... but it's a shame if you miss the good ones because his acting really makes these great.

    Reign Over Me wasn't the greatest movie, but his performance in it is stellar.

    I've always felt that his slop movies were just excuses to go film on some exotic island with his buddies, I'd have done the same :)
