Ask HN: I hate you. Don't leave me (the AI edition)
How often do you guys receive emails (and other messages, too) that are obviously written entirely by AI? You know the type… those hollow contrast phrases like "This isn't about X, it's about Y."
But more importantly: how often do you send emails and other messages written entirely by AI?
- hellodarknessmy 4mo agoGuilty, as a non-native speaker
- gus_massa 4mo agoMy suggestion is to use autotranslation instead of full AI rewrite. It's not perfect, but at least it keeps part of your own voice.
- aselimov3 4mo agoI don’t use ai for any human to human communications. I don’t even really use it for grammar anymore. I’d rather post my own authentic style (blunders and all) then get my thoughts blended by the language grinder into sludge
- hellodarknessmy 4mo agoFair enough, but what about getting those messages? Does it happen often? And is it easy for you to spot them?
- aselimov3 4mo agoI don’t receive that much personal communication that’s AI copy paste. It is somewhat easy to tell when someone is writing with AI. I usually don’t read articles that have strong AI tells for example
