Ask HN: How much time do you spend cooking every day?

- downbad_ 4mo agoAn hour, give or take. But I'm not a great cook, just a guy with a severely limited repertoire. It would take considerably longer otherwise.
- cpburns2009 4mo agoI usually spend 2 hours cooking on Mondays to make dinner for the rest of the week. Breakfast and lunch are quick meals requiring 0-10 min prep day of.
- boundless88 4mo agoWow, you can plan a week's worth of dinners in just two hours! What kind of food do you usually make?
- cpburns2009 4mo agoParmesan chicken, gulasch and spatzle, vegetable soup, summer tortellini skillet, lasagna (~3 hr), baked mac and cheese, baked spaghetti. I usually cook some frozen vegetables if the dish doesn't have any.
- HardwareLust 4mo agoBreakfast and lunch are usually pretty quick, 10-15 mins tops. Dinner can vary, of course. If I had to guess, probably average close to an hour a night.
