I just sequenced a human genome to 30× coverage at home
- profsummergig 5mo agoEveryone seems to mention Claude. I use Gemini. My question for those who have lots of experience with both: is there a significant difference between the two in coding? (Reason I prefer Gemini: my first vibe code, I used Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini to "one-shot" the same software goal. Only Gemini's code worked right off-the-bat.)
- nikolay 5mo agoSame here. I use a paid Gemini plan and get outstanding results, but for coding, it's not as good as Codex or Claude Code. But the worst is Grok - I've tried Grok Build, and for the first time in over 6 months, I saw gross hallucinations. DeepSeek is much, much better than Grok in every way.
- allan_s 5mo agoI dont have twitter so my thought reading the post 1. Wow i want to do that too ! 2. Wait is there a follow up on how to reproduce this at home 3. Does it mean i will have my "full" dna sequence ? 4. If not, what would be missing (my understanding is that dna while dns is static, genes get activated /deactivacted depending on a lot of factors ? And how to get these missing parts? 5. What are the pratical current and future use of it ? Can i see my family doctor with it ?
