What do they even mean by this? “There’s not a way to be certain, unless we found some specific marker for the vaccine” I imagine they haven't found a "marker"

“There’s not a way to be certain, unless we found some specific marker for the vaccine”
I imagine they haven't found a "marker" because they haven't looked for one. Also haven't found one for anything else
Healthy child takes vaccine / get myocarditis soon after / dies... / vaccine is known to cause myocarditis
It's not definitive, but it's probably a better explanation than the rest. Unless the virus or some other condition come forward and confess
- ceejayoz 5mo agoA few months back they made a big deal about having confirmed a handful of deaths. This is a walk-back. Either way, the safety profile is clear. We gave billions of shots with wonderfully low complication rates, especially versus untreated COVID.

- ceejayoz 5mo agoHow does one determine if they’re in that “majority of people” in advance of getting sick? Most drives in a car don’t result in an accident. Do you disable all the safety features accordingly?
- KetoManx64 5mo agoA super easy one: Step on a scale and see what your BmI is. Or you can get a DEXA scan to see how much visceral fat you have, or buy a over the counter CGM to monitor your blood insulin levels, or go for a run around the block and see how quickly you are out of breath, etc. To go with your car driver analogy, we can equate the metabolic lack of health to a number of beers that a person has before they go for a drive. The more unhealthy/drunk the more dangerous it is for them to go out and do things in the world.
- ceejayoz 5mo agoNo, those are ways to know if you’re unhealthy. How do you know in advance if you’re one of the minority of “metabolically healthy” people who still get severe COVID? Safe drivers still get in accidents, after all.
- KetoManx64 5mo agoI guess the same way that you know in advance if you're one of the minority of people who will get blood clots or one of the other life long complications after getting vaccinated?
- ceejayoz 4mo agoWe can't know that in advance, which is why vaccine safety is determined by statistics rather than anecdotes. What we do know is that the vaccines are largely protective against such clots, because unchecked COVID causes them. https://heart.bmj.com/content/110/9/635 https://heart.bmj.com/content/110/9/635
- guilhas 5mo agoBut nothing changed, they still think it's "probable" just that "there is no way to know anything definitively" Sounds more like a cop-out Alse more countries reviewed the vaccine and concluded not as safe for children
