Awareness of the dark forest theory would cause AI to stay as silent as possible.
- andrewflnr 5mo agoDark forest theory is fun to think about but there's very little reason to think it's actually true.
- daynthelife 5mo agoTo the extent that's true, the same would then apply to any sufficiently intelligent life. So if that's the crux of the argument, it has nothing to do with AI being a great filter.
