Smalltalk: The Software Industry's Greatest Failure

- parallelminds 5mo ago[dead]
- rondaerth92 5mo agoThe problem with Smalltalk was always the pride and ego of the leaders of their community
- igouy 5mo agoSo there were no problems with the technology? So "the pride and ego" was grander than any other tech leaders?
- Rochus 5mo agoI always wondered why "the entire software industry" is a failure. Now we know it was because variables in Smalltalk are not first-class objects (plus some other essential issues). The comment section of the post is revealing as well; the author responds to every pushback with insults. Well then.
