Ideally, you already have a buyer in mind, and you talk to him beforehand so you can meet his needs specifically. People who don't know much about computers, but want (and can afford) the very best, would probably be happy to drop $2-3k on a custom-built computer that you can put together for $1k off of Newegg and a couple of hours of work. Set up Windows, drivers, and all of their Steam games, so they can just pick it up and play. Plus, you get to play with new gadgets, if that's your thing.
