Development and deployment proceeded without a hitch after that. The only vestige remaining was S3. I'm in the midst of a new project now, and I'm not even considering Amazon, even for S3 this time. I'm going to use an S3-compatible layer just in case, but I don't want to give Amazon a dime anymore.
