Allegro is Polish, large and successful, no?
But I only know of them because they bought some successful small companies in my country and shut them down to reduce competition, for which they are universally hated around here.
- pzo 5mo agoIt was founded in Poland and by poles by I think it’s owned whole by foreign capital - hard to call it polish even though still listed on polish stock exchange. Google branch in Warsaw we wouldn’t call it polish either. Examples of significant shareholders include: * Permira Advisers LLP (UK) * Cinven Group Ltd. (UK) * BlackRock (US) * Vanguard (US)
- tasuki 5mo agoCzechia? I always have to explain that Allegro is not a bad company per se, just absolutely messed up the attempt at conquering Czechia...
