When I lived in the US, I was a Trader Joe’s person. They had lots of interesting and gourmet-ish items at pretty reasonable prices. Not a lot in the way of fresh produce though, so needed to go to a supermarket for that. Their staff felt a bit cultish, but they were always pretty friendly and helpful so from a customer perspective it was nice. I tried Costco once and everything was too big. By the time we got to the end of anything we were absolutely sick of it.
