- sailfast 5mo agoAmericans will need to hold the executive accountable here. Tough to trust, I know. RE Dresden - trickier with an actual, declared war. We’re also still waiting for some Germans to get put in jail. Not sure WWII is a productive example here haha, but I take your point
- bcjdjsndon 5mo agoDresden was the firebombing of houses, under the rationale that as citizens produced materials for the war, they weren't civilians anymore but combatants. That also included children and babies. Winston Churchill personally ordered it. Textbook warcrime. But that only matters if there's someone to prosecute you, and they weren't going to send themselves to jail
