First hand experience tells me too, that starting up a company alone is not only really hard, but slower as well, which these days speed is more crucial than ever. I have to agree on common wisdom and recommendation here that if you want to start a company and create something with impact try to partner up. Finding the right partners is another whole chapter by itself.
