Yeah, this is also why the "the climate has changed before and will always change" comments are so misleading - indeed it does, and currently, it's in a cold phase, so if we're seeing rapid warming right now, then something is seriously off.
- nephihaha 6mo agoIt is worth pointing out that there is evidence of warming on Mars just now. I don't doubt anthropogenic warming is a thing, but it appears there is a solar factor too.
- SAI_Peregrinus 6mo agoOf course there's a solar factor. The question is the size of the effect. The effect of increasing CO2 is much, much larger than the effect of variations in the sun's energy output.
- nephihaha 6mo agoSolar activity is barely mentioned, but I believe it is accelerating the process. The media also need to stop referring to CO² as just "carbon". That is misleading too. (You didn't to be fair.) Carbon itself is common in our environment and is even okay in many other compounds.
