    Maybe they are using metric units like 500ml? A (UK Imperial) pint is 568ml. I don't know what a US Customary pint is. (Fun fact: UK and US customary/imperial units aren't the same! Every country used to have it's own system. That's why the metric system was invented)

      No, they're just being cheap. A pint of Ben & Jerry's is still a pint.
