didnt Id make most of their money with the licensing of their engines (id tech 1-5)?
- allenp 14y agoInteresting question. According to this site: http://doom.wikia.com/wiki/Sales http://doom.wikia.com/wiki/Sales between 1993-1999 Doom and Doom II sold a combined 4 million units (gross over $120 million worldwide). Not sure what they made from licensing.
- krakensden 14y agoNo, and after iD Tech 3 they made an effort to license their engines less.
