If it was at all true there'd be companies out there offering to build you rooftop solar in exchange for x years of the generation value.
That that industry doesn't exist is pretty much proof that the numbers aren't what they think they are.
- rootusrootus 6mo agoThat industry exists, it is called Purchase Power Agreements. The value of x is usually 20 or 25. It is typically lucrative for the company, not so much the homeowner.
- K0balt 6mo agoThis indicates to me that the payback for a homeowner is probably in the 7-10 year mark, if they weren’t somehow getting screwed over in the process.
