$50bn for a harness makes no sense, what am I missing?
- riffraff 5mo agoMy 2c: they need to pump xAI usage (which nobody is using) to be able to keep the hype alive pre-ipo.
- girvo 5mo agoI assume someone knows someone, backroom deal perhaps? I'm not sure either, when Cursor has a lot of risk and not that much moat.
- xqcgrek2 5mo agomoney laundering and tax avoidance
- xnx 5mo agoHow would this be money laundering?
- dogscatstrees 5mo agoValue shifting. Search for SolarCity and cousin Lyndon Rive.
- inemesitaffia 5mo agoThat isn't laundering
- bmitc 5mo agoMusk passing around his debt from purchasing Twitter.

- timmg 5mo agoI thought Cursor has started making their own models. Did I confuse them with someone else?
- _--__--__ 5mo agoThey have a 'proprietary' model which is just an open source (kimi?) fine tune
- edaemon 5mo agoTheir Composer 2 model is Kimi (an open model) with additional RL fine-tuning, for whatever that information is worth to you: https://techcrunch.com/2026/03/22/cursor-admits-its-new-coding-model-was-built-on-top-of-moonshot-ais-kimi/ https://techcrunch.com/2026/03/22/cursor-admits-its-new-codi...
- timmg 5mo agoOh, I see. Though, in fairness, that's probably the important part. Like a base model plus "coding smarts" is probably perfect for the situation. But maybe not as much value as I was thinking.
- lossolo 5mo ago1. Pay them with shares of SpaceX 2. Make SpaceX valuation even higher before IPO 3. Boost XAI/usage of Grok.
- gip 5mo agoFor a successful IPO and attract more capital you need a very good story/narrative. That what is being crafted here. Business fundamentals matter less with elon!
- kube-system 5mo agoCursor has a significant enterprise userbase, that has to be worth something
