How does it compare to LeRobot SO101 https://huggingface.co/docs/lerobot/so101 https://huggingface.co/docs/lerobot/so101 ?
- Mars008 6mo agoThis is higher end arm, priced about 5x. I.e. they are not comparable.
- utopiah 6mo agoWell they are, you just did, and it helped me so thank you.
- michaelt 6mo agoThe LeRobot / SO-ARM101 uses $9 motors [1] has 5 degrees of freedom and is available with all parts for $300 [2] fully assembled. They don't quote a payload, reach, speed or repeatability. Their target market is people who want to play around with things like imitation learning outside of simulation at the lowest possible price, and who don't care about payload, reach, speed or repeatability. The reBot Arm B601 uses $150 motors [3] has 6 degrees of freedom and a kit with all parts is $1200 [4] not assembled. They claim a 1.5kg payload, 650mm reach, and 0.2mm repeatability - numbers that are good for the price, if true (take that 0.2mm with a pinch of salt). It has no brakes, so don't lift anything you're not willing to drop. Obviously it doesn't compare to a $40,000 industrial arm, but for the price you wouldn't expect it to.
