"I've seen kids who vehemently deny that meat comes from animals." Going off topic... There is no chance of my kids not knowing where meat comes from. I often use the words beef/cow or pork/pig etc interchangeably. e.g. "What's for dinner tonight?" "Chopped up bits of cow."
