Ask HN: Why most of the startups don't make Facebook apps?

I am just wondering why entrepreneurs don't prefer to make their products based on Facebook platforms despite of having a larger user base? In past we had successful examples like Zynga yet many did not follow that route. Is there some particular reason behind that?
